Head of Middle and Upper School

York Country Day School (YCDS), an outstanding PK-12 independent college preparatory school, seeks an experienced and inspiring Head of Middle and Upper School beginning July 1, 2015. The successful candidate will be an energetic, compassionate leader with experience in the classroom, curriculum development and in educational administration. The candidate is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Middle and Upper School divisions. The successful candidate for Head of Middle and Upper School will work closely with faculty, students and parents to promote a positive and professional climate. The Head of Middle and Upper School must be a team player with a collaborative style of leadership eager to work closely with the Head of school and the administrative team to advance the mission of York Country Day School. YCDS is affiliated with York College of Pennsylvania (YCP) and YCDS takes full advantage of this valuable partnership.

Candidates for this position should be proven academic leaders who are deeply knowledgeable about current trends in grades 6-12 education and passionate about working with students and faculty across these grade levels. Strong communication skills are essential for success in the role. The ideal candidate should have demonstrated their ability to establish and maintain a rigorous academic program.

York Country Day School serves over 230 students across three divisions. It is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and by the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools.
