Financial Aid Policy
York Country Day School is committed to offering financial support to families who qualify for financial aid. Financial aid must be based on demonstrated ability to pay. A limited amount of aid is available on a first-come, first-served basis to families with demonstrated financial need.
- Students at all grade levels are eligible
- Current YCDS families whose children are continuing at Country Day have priority.
Students must apply each year for financial aid. Financial aid is administered in according with the following principles:
- Parents complete the Parents' Financial Statement and send it directly to ETS in Princeton NJ as soon as possible after January 1. The form is available from the Financial Aid Office.
- The following must be on file with the Financial Aid Office before any financial aid will be considered:
- copies of each parent's previous year tax return, including all schedules and documentation
- copies of each parent's completed current year tax return must be filed by April 30.
- Important: Regardless of marital status, all parents—not just custodial parents—must complete the necessary paperwork
- This practice is standard in National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) member schools, to ensure that limited funds are distributed on the basis of true need.
Please Note:
- A financial aid decision will not be made until all of the required paperwork is on file with the Financial Aid Office. Please submit all paperwork as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
- Financial aid awards may not exceed demonstrated need as calculated from the Parents' Financial Statement.
- New financial aid awards may not exceed 60% of tuition.
