Session 2 August 14-18

STEAM Camps: Discover Devices and Doodads (Grades 2-3) NEW DATES

Have you ever made a bubblebot? How about a banana keyboard? Have you ever built or programmed a robot? Develop critical thinking, build creative confidence, and foster collaborative teamwork while tackling real world challenges. Students in grades 2-3 will learn to become more than just consumers of technology. They will become inventors using littleBits, LEGO Education WeDo 2.0 and a whole bunch of ingenuity. No prior robotics or programming experience is required. Just bring your creativity and resourcefulness.

8:00-12:00 p.m.
July 17-21
$195

A minimum of 7 students must be registered for this camp.

STEAM Camps: The Art of Science (Grades K-1)

Air, water, light, motion, and reactions will be explored as campers discover art and science as an intertwined process. The art pieces created in this camp result from the process of exploring, manipulating and discovering scientific concepts often with beautiful outcomes. As natural elements will be the inspiration for many projects, campers will be spending much of their time outdoors experiencing the art of science.

8:00-12:00 p.m.
July 10-14
$195/week

A minimum of 7 students must be registered for this camp.

STEAM Camp:EV3 Robotics Camp (Grades 4-6)

Come join the fun of learning programming and building robots with us! Students will expand their skills building and programming Lego EV3 Mindstorms robots. A new challenge awaits each day as campers use the engineering design process to brainstorm ideas and build and program their creations to tackle a new path each day. Prior robotics or Lego building experience is not required, but a good imagination and some determination will give campers the best experience.

STEAM Camp: Engineering Camp (Grades 4-6)

Engineers are problem solvers, and in this camp, students will practice using the engineering design process to hone their problem solving and critical thinking skills while designing and building mechanisms that track time. Based on the Engineering is Everywhere curriculum, each day, campers will work in small groups to create mechanisms to meet specific project objectives, just like engineers do. They will apply principles of science and math, use gears and simple machines to shape their designs, and test them to see if they meet the desired objective. A different engineering field will be highlighted each day, showing students the range of career paths engineering can follow.

8:00-12:00 p.m.

Take your EV3 robotics to the next level! Students will build on prior knowledge of robotics and their skills building and programming Lego EV3 Mindstorms robots. Through the week, students will tackle missions of their choosing and focus their efforts on the use of sensors, advanced programming logic and mechanical design. Prior robotics or programming building experience is helpful, but not required.

Each day, students will receive instruction in mechanical build and programming that they may apply to daily challenges. Working in small teams, students will design, build, program and test a robot using the VEX EDR platform and RobotC to address the tasks for each day's challenge which will be a combination of autonomous and tele-operated tasks. Students will be able to put together their new skills for an end of the week showcase to be held Friday afternoon, highlighting the accomplishments they have achieved throughout the week.
