YCDS is committed to providing PreK-8th grade students a wide range of excellent after-school enrichment opportunities as well as providing safe and constructive before and after school care. Students explore new interests or engage old interests to greater depths guided by faculty and professionals who are passionate about their craft.
Enrichment program registration fees are set at approximately the same hourly rate as After School Care. Financial aid is available. Inquiries should be directed to Hannah Holliway, Director of Admission and Financial Aid, at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Common After-School Enrichment programs include:
Jr. FLL Builders ClubGet ready for Jr. FLL in the fall through this fun and skill-building program. Students learn to build a variety of geared machines while exploring basic principles of physics. The addition of battery-powered motors will add an additional level of excitement. Skills developed in Builders Club will carry over to the fall and Jr. FLL. There is plenty of time for "free-build" too!
Join the FIRST Lego League program and prepare to be immersed in real-world science and technology challenges. FLL teams research and design their own solution to a current scientific question or problem and build autonomous LEGO® robots that perform a series of missions. A strong emphasis is placed on teamwork and civility, key ingredients to success.
FIRST Tech Challenge
FTC is an advanced level of the FIRST programs. Students in grades 9-12 compete head to head, using a sports model. Teams are responsible for designing, building, and programming their robots to compete in an alliance format against other teams. Students get to:
- Design, build, and program robots
- Apply real-world math and science concepts
- Develop problem-solving, organizational, and team-building skills
- Compete and cooperate in alliances and tournaments
- Compete for a spot in the World Championship
Students hone their fine motor skills while building solid fundamentals in the sport of soccer. Positive encouragement, personal instruction, and friendly competition encourages children in fun and safe physical exercise while building valuable social skills in a teamwork environment.
Students have fun learning the basic rules and techniques of tennis in a fun and social environment. Appropriate for a variety of skill levels.
Students work with our varsity basketball coaches and players to learn the fundamentals of basketball. Students work in a group setting on dribbling, passing, and shooting. Our varsity players are mentors and instructors who help our coaches work with younger students on all aspects of the game.
