  • Middle and Upper School Science Teacher - Full Time

    York Country Day School seeks a dynamic and dedicated Full-Time Science teacher. The selected candidate will join the faculty for the 2020-2021 school year. 
     
    Founded in 1953, York Country Day School is a progressive, independent, college preparatory school in York, PA serving students in pre-K through grade twelve. York Country Day School inspires and nurtures the innovative and creative spirit of students as they pursue their intellectual promise, as well as social and civic passions. Students at York Country Day School are known and valued as integral members of an engaging community.
     
    Beginning August 2020, the Science teacher will instruct Middle School Science and the potential of other Upper School science courses as needed. The teacher will advise students and may sponsor a club. All faculty are expected to be involved in the life of the school and participate in school events.

    The ideal candidate should possess an undergraduate degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field and possess an inquiry-minded, lab-based teaching style.  Previous teaching in an independent school setting is desired. Interested candidates should have expertise in an active, 21st century learning environment. The ideal candidate will be an excellent role model and engaging teacher for students in grades 6-12.

  • Substitute Teacher

    York Country Day School is seeking substitute teachers for Preschool through Grade 12. Substitute teachers are expected to implement the daily instructional plans of the classroom teacher, maintain a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth, and establish rapport with students while maintaining proper classroom management.

    Bachelor's degree required and previous experience in a similar school setting preferred. Must be energetic, collaborative, and well organized. YCDS has small classes and talented students.
