  • Athletic Director

    York Country Day School is an independent college preparatory day school for students from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12, located in York, Pennsylvania announces a search for a new Athletic Director beginning immediately.  The Athletic Director reports to the Head of School, is a member of the Administrative Team, and has overall responsibility for all athletic and physical education programs at the school.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 
    • Hire, supervise, train, and evaluate coaches and Athletic Department personnel.
    • Coordinate Athletic and PE programs with appropriate Division Head.
    • Schedule athletic contests, assign officials, oversee transportation.
    • Manage the safety/security of athletic facilities and maintain an appropriate level of supervision for all student-athletes.
    • Represent YCDS at meetings of several organizations (PIAA, YAIAA, Lancaster/Lebanon)
    • Attend regular meetings of the Administrative Team
    • Represent the Athletic Department at Admission Open Houses, parent gatherings, and other school functions.
    • Prepare, propose, and manage the Athletic Department Budget.
    • Approve, order, and maintain Athletic Department equipment and uniforms.
    • In conjunction with the Campus Facilities Department, monitor and maintain all athletic facilities.
    • Regularly attend athletic contests and manage events hosted by the school.
    • In conjunction with the appropriate Division Head participate in the nomination and selection of all athletic awards.
    • In conjunction with the Upper School Head, ensure PIAA compliance regarding eligibility and guidelines of student-athletes and programs.
    • Promote the Athletic Program and YCDS student-athletes in the local media.
    • Maintain integrity of the programs in terms of sportsmanship and good behavior.
    • Facilitate an appropriate level of communication with parents regarding Athletic Department policies and concerns.
    • Work with the Communications Department and Head of School on issues of fundraising, communication, and publicity.
    • Manage the Athletics page of the YCDS web site.
    • Maintain records of team and individual accomplishments.
    Experience is preferred. A bachelor's degree is required. Salary and benefits are competitive.

  • Substitute Teacher

    York Country Day School is seeking substitute teachers for Preschool through Grade 12. Substitute teachers are expected to implement the daily instructional plans of the classroom teacher, maintain a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth, and establish rapport with students while maintaining proper classroom management.

    Bachelor's degree required and previous experience in a similar school setting preferred. Must be energetic, collaborative, and well organized. YCDS has small classes and talented students.
